Tina MacKellar
Biography
My main aspiration for being a Celebrant is for you to say to me, “that ceremony was just right for us”.
I help families to choose the right words for their ceremonies by listening to what’s important to them and by understanding their wishes. I have a lot of experience in talking to people about their life histories and so when I meet you, I will use my listening skills in combination with my creativity and passion for social history, to help to bring stories and people to life: creating truly unique ceremonies.
A little bit about me:
For the last few years I have enjoyed going on adventures with my family in our caravan. I do confess, however, that it is my wife Lou that does the hard bits: driving and hooking up etc.! However, we also have a three-year-old, which means that I’ve always got a good supply of chocolate buttons on me. My storytelling abilities also extend to an impressive repertoire of children’s stories, that I can rattle off when required. I also like jive dancing and going to gigs, especially country and folk music. My favourite tree is a rowan, my favourite bird is a robin and my favourite place is Millport. I am also known for doing a mean rendition of Tam o’Shanter when asked!

Tina conducted the service to celebrate the life of my dad following his recent death. Tina made a difficult process really easy. she was kind, supportive and available. The service she conducted was truly a great reflection of my dads life .She managed perfectly to portray his character, humour and his values. I had many people come and tell me how much they enjoyed the service and that it was so Harry. Thanks Tina xx
I would recommend her as a celebrant.
Wonderful Wedding Celebrant - thank you Tina!
Tina was able to create a ceremony for us that far exceeded all we had hoped for. Her words were meaningful, funny and heartfelt and her delivery highly professional. Her guidance in structuring our ceremony showed us from the start that she was exactly right for us. Although we got in touch with Tina at relatively short notice, she was unfazed, flexible, and her communication was top notch at all times. She has a really lovely and positive nature, and was so easy to work with. We will always feel very privileged to have had Tina as our celebrant. We couldn’t recommend her higher. Thank you Tina!

An Amazing Celebrant
As a guest at a recent funeral, I would just like to say what a fabulous job Tina did as the celebrant. Her style is so warm and compassionate striking a perfect balance of storytelling and sincerity. I feel she was a real ‘natural’ and made me, as a guest want to listen to her every word.
I would thoroughly recommend her ❤️
A highly recommended celebrant
Tina worked so hard to deliver an excellent funeral, liaising well with the family, funeral directors & crematorium staff. She was empathetic, kind and spoke very well. Thank you Tina.
Funeral Service for Jonathan Dalling
Hi Tina, just a quick note to say thank you for the eulogy and everything you did for Ula and all of the family. Everyone thought your eulogy and how you managed the service was perfect and very fitting and expertly delivered. A day we never wanted X x
The Perfect Celebrant.
Tina led the service at the memorial for my partner who tragically passed away at 30 years old.
From the moment I met her I had immediate confidence in her. She dedicated her time to listen to stories about him, and put them all together to create what was the most beautiful service.
Her tribute to my partner truly captured his personality and character. The stories that she told about him were respectfully funny at the perfect moments, and beautifully sincere at others. She made the service so deeply personal to my partner and for the people in the room. In fact, some people actually commented that they assumed Tina must have known my partner personally.
Throughout the whole process, Tina was very accessible and communicated brilliantly via text, telephone and in person. She expressed a determination to deliver the perfect tribute to my partner – which she absolutely did!
I cannot recommend Tina highly enough for any occasion. She is a great public speaker, extremely professional and clearly a lovely person.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
A True Celebration!! A Talented Celebrant!!
After my 97yr old mother passed away, I knew I did not want a traditional sad funeral but to celebrate mums happy, full, inspirational and interesting life in a caring, sensitive yet lighthearted manner.
I contacted Tina knowing her personality and professional history was the right fit to be able to communicate mums life in the best way possible and to set the tone for the event I was planning.
Tina listened wholeheartedly to my garbled ramblings and amazingly took this mass of confused information and sorted it all and reconstructed it, into an amazing chronologically yet interesting account, of my mother’s busy 97 years of life on this earth.
My guests laughed and cried at what she had to say and many were amazed at the amount of information she had encapsulated into her address. Others were surprised at what they did not know about my mum. But more importantly, she conveyed the deep love I had for my mum and the love my mum had for my dad and for my brother and I.
I cannot thank Tina enough for her sensitivity, professionalism and empathy.
I cannot recommend Tina highly enough.
