Biography
I’ve been a storyteller all my life, and that has taken me in many different directions, to all kinds of places and every sort of person. From interviewing Tammy Wynette in her Nashville mansion to motorcycle adventures in South African bushfires. From books about alternative golf and Shetland fiddle music to a TV series about single malt whisky.
But the past few years have been concentrated on telling, with love, the stories of those who have died. From Shetland to the Borders, I’ve conducted funerals ranging from the holy to the wholly secular. That’s resulted in a book – It Tolls for Thee: Celebrating and Reclaiming the End of Life. And now I do weddings too. I try not to get the two varieties of ceremony confused…
